Brilliant. Thanks guys. Looks like I might have dropped lucky then., set of wiseco pistons too. Roll on winter.

Thanks for that. So by that if it's a 16v crank, it's the same?
-
Thanks for that Toni, both have a 66mm throw so assume bigger Pistons. But will it go in? Anyone else ever swapped 'em?

Hi guys.
dropped on a few engine bits today but was just wondering if anyone can tell me if a GS1000 crank is the same as an early 1100. I know the starter clutch etc is the same. Anyone enlighten me a little.?

Hi Baldrick, I too am on the hunt for a big lump but prices seem to have gone daft. Last one I found was £900 !!! Good luck looking though.
I'm looking for one to drop in whilst going through my original but like I say they are really pricey. Be interested if you find any right money though.
Anyone else?

Good to know thanks

Just out of interest.....is it?

About 2 years so far!!!! Sorry, having a downer on my 1100 today!,,,,

As has been pointed out several times in this post, it's only sitting on a taper but over time they almost stick together. The only way to split them is shock. Put the puller on and load it up, TIGHT, then give it a damn good crack on the end. It may take several blows but if you hit it hard and square it will separate. Just the same as track rod / drag link ends. Remember to hit it not tickle it!

Hiya dude, just had a quick look at mine whilst the tank is off. Above the frame number and slightly anti-clockwise is a lug probably 25mm x 3mm.
