  1. Hi all,

Ive just rebuilt my 1100N and I have no rear lights. I have number plate lights but no brake or rear lights.

Ive checked the bulbs, connections and Fuse but they are all good. It’s got me stumped.

It was all fine before the motor came out

    Any ideas fella’s?

    Cheers

  2. Yeah sort of, so I initially ordered the 41's for GSXR1100 91/92 fitment and they would be preset for a stock motor. I am now strongly considering the 40mm versions for the Inazuma with dual stack funnels instead. Both sets would need re-jetting mains at least for a 1216.

  3. It sounds like the 675 wheels are the way to go then given the width and more importantly the weight. If only someone would produce a fitting kit.. lol.

Once the bike is back with me work will start on this conversion. Unfortunately I have limited experience in this area but that won’t stop me trying. The front I can handle, the rear will obviously be more tricky. I don’t mind spacing out the front sprocket a small amount but getting offset ones doesn’t sound like fun. With a bit of luck, judging by what @dupersuncsaid, it may be an easier job than some, and hopefully  without having to machine the hub..We will see. If anyone else fancies this conversion and or is doing it already then any shared info would be cool. @markfoggy

    Cheers

You loose power because on the oilboilers the combustion chamber is cooled by an oil jacket, fed from the oil pump via the oil lines on the back of the head.  You need to plumb a cooler into this circuit, to keep the cylinder head cooler.

Look at pictures of the Yoshi bikes from Endurance and AMA in the 80's and you'll see the head coolers are bigger than the main oil cooler.

Where are these mounted Dunc? I’m trying to find some pictures but failing, mostly because of photbucket. I’m interested in location and hose routing.

Don't you have contacts with Nathan who built the Dunlop Xr69?

That motor must be a similar spec to your's.

No mate, I don’t, Steve may have though and that’s a great shout so I will find out :tu

From a m8's experience with a 1216 and FCR41's - unless you are seeking a 'pub bragging rights' big HP number or are racing with lots of WOT running, they are not a happy marriage on the road. They will function, but the low end and mid range will be disappointing. His dyno'd at 160+hp with the FCR's - now gone back to RS36's @ 155hp and monster mid-range! Your choice!

Not FCR’s mate as like you said they aren’t good on the road, but TMR MJN’s are a different prospect altogether, or at least that’s why I’ve been led to believe :)

  7. Anyone fitted these carbs to their bike with a 1216 kit?

I have some 41mm fancy Yoshimura TMR MJN's and wondering how much jetting will be needed. Ive heard mixed things about these as far as jetting goes so Im after some first hand experience if you have any?

  8. Merry Christmas all,

Im building my 1100N up this spring and wondering what are the lightest wheels I can fit straight up.

I was looking at Dymags but they are very pricey so what works as a good bolt on upgrade?

Slingy wheels seem really heavy, do later models fit ok?

    Cheers

  9. Hello all,

I need a bit of collective forum advice.

I've got a 1100N which I pulled the motor and had Roger Upperton build to full 1216 spec. The bike was going to be a base for a nice project but now I want to keep the tuned motor for another build and get the 1100 back to stock and sell on.

I can get a 1200 bandit motor way cheaper than a GSXR11 so wondered what I need to do to get it to fit?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers all

  10. So I pick up the 1216 motor from Roger Upperton next week, it has cams and headwork too.. Problem is, I am now considering not putting it back in the frame and instead building a track 7/11 instead.. I have some BPF forks and an Ohlins rear and those plus the engine work is more than a tidy 1100N is worth... so do I

A: Put it back together and sell it to fund the trackbike

B: Buy another 1100 motor and shock and move on saving the parts for a 750 frame etc.. or

C: Make the 11 the trackbike...

    Hmmm mm

    Thoughts?

  11. *taps microphone* is this on?

The reasoning is because I want a captive rear calliper without the torque arm, better chain adjustment options and a swinger that is a little deeper.

I was led to believe that they are a direct fit but I'm not so sure.. If the collective wisdom on here can't help I guess I will have to buy one and see and then hope I can flog it after if it doesn't.

  12. Now then,

Firstly I apologise if this topic has been done to death, however I wanted an up to date response or view.

The 11 is being built to 1216 with head work and cams. I want to replace the carbs (40mm CV) with some flat slides and I was wondering what the general concensous was. I have ridden with flatties before so I know what to expect with them being boggy if you go WOT quickly, however I am stuck for choice and size..

    What say you?

  13. So I just replaced the chain and sprockets on the 11 as the old stuff looked a bit past it, I didn't bother checking the gearing and just went back to standard with 15/48. Using nice shiney Renthals and a lovely gold D&D. Thing is, whilst out today and with it only having 5 gears it felt like it needed a 6th which I didn't remember it feeling like that before.. Although I haven't ridden it for a year.. I've binned the old ones so I can't tell you what they were.. It made me think..

What gearing do you run or recommend?
