    101.5 mm then:tu

fab dabey dozey!!!! looks like i have the right push rod then still. by the way....the red maroon 96 bandit you seen too is going strong fella!!!thankyou

  3. looking at it it has..but not sure...apparently it did to previous owner. just doing bits to it till i get get the carbs and stage 3 kit back in it. so far its had new hel lines for the clutch..new slave kit..new master kit and nowt yet ...it wont even reverse bleed...vacumm bleed or normal bleed. it'll push air through from the slave and the fluid from the slave out but nowt downwards...so either i have parts that have moved about in the master stopping it from pushing fluid...a blockage or a air bubble...maybe even defective new parts

  4. Hi all, I have a 92 gsxr 1100 slingshot and being looking at why my clutch isn't engaging when bleeding...stripped it apart again to look at stuff however I was wondering on the lentgh of the push rod for it...is it about 100mm in size?

    Cheers

  5. Cheers guys....for some reason it wasn't showing on my end when looking on parts website to see what the differences was. New ir was a cable job but wasnt sure abou it being molded to fit or not. Thought I could saved a few quid by looking at other possible brackets to fit the 12 lol

  6. Where do people get there decent case sliders or frame sliders from?trying to case sliders is like none existent and frame sliders...all I'm getting up is crash bungs which I don't fancy the ali frame being written off but low impact might not be as bad

You might be able to modify some to fit, but usually those axle slider bungs fit into hollow axles. As for the rest of the bike, get some good aftermarket case covers. They're the first thing that will hit and the frames are pretty much fully protected by the engine. Crash bungs weren't really a thing back in the day when these bikes came out. You can get some crash guards for a blandit, but they mount to the lower part of the frame and will most likely dent/bend the frame in a crash more than actually protecting anything.

Most of the sliders I've used on other bikes over the years mount to the upper side engine mounts, something Slingshots don't have. There's just no place really to mount anything like that, which is why everyone runs aftermarket case covers.

I'll look at getting the aftermarket case covers then as extra insurance. It makes perfect sense with the ali frame and crash bars under impact and more likely to buckle the frame.

I'll look at modifying bungs onto it somehow with some trial and error and see what's more sturdy

Allready got sliders on the head on the head

  8. Hi all.

Has anyone with the 1100 92 slingshot been able to fit a crash bung kit to the front and rear spindles or any where off the frame? If so what set up did you use for the front and rear spindle? Looking at kits and ideas such as threaded bars, lock nuts, bungs with spacers/washers to stuff like expansion screw set ups to keep them attached to the spindles. However im not sure of the internal diameter of both front and rear spindle so suss out what I need and what will fit.

If anyone has photos of crash bungs on there slingshots please let me see as it'll give me a better idea on how it'll be for my build. Cheers

  9. Hi all

I'm looking at the gen 1 braced hayabusa swingarm and wheel set up for a gsxr 92 slingshot that im looking at buying.

Is this a straight swap or is there some work done to it? Is the chain shorter at all?

    Any help.is appreciated.

    Cheers  all

I'm getting almost between 39-40 almost.

It's currently has cone filters and the r6 rear end on it so won't be able to fit the original airbox on it

I'll be sending it to a dyno centre with a rolling road to get it done right once I have it up and running

Yes measure the i.d on the side where they fit on the rubbers on cylinder head , 92 model uses bst 40mm .

They are very tricky to tune without an airbox .

  12. Hi all.

I've recently acquired an 1992 slingshot.

I noticed both fuel lines where connected to the back of the petcock....no vacuum hose on top as all 4 points are blanked off with a rubber cap...no fuel line spacer/connector on the middle vacuum tube and the breather hose from crankcase was just sat in it.

Bike currently doesn't run and I plan on getting it up and running

I take it the bike is vacuum fed and if so Where's best to connect the vacuum hose on?it's strange as all 4 carbs arnt connected up..just 1 and 2. ..3 and 4 so not sure how the vacuum Will work when there's no hose there for it and the petcock has 2 fuel lines to it.

As I've learnt the fuel lines have a t piece joint and one line coming off that to the petcock so leads me to think there's a vacuum pipe some where?.

Also why would the breather pipe just be sat in the breather t joint in the middle of the carbs?.

I get Impression the bike hasn't been sorted properly and hasn't ran with the previous owner during the build.

Routing and pics of where tubes go will help me understand what I need to do etc on the build from other peoples slingshots will be much appreciated

    Cheers all.
