No torx bits needed here. If you want to rebuild your forks, with no springs in compress the forks and use a couple of 1/2 socket extensions, a correct size socket and a 17mm (to be used as a 19mm 'allen key') to fit into the top of the damper rod. You can now hold the rod using a t-bar or ratchet so the bottom set screw can be tightened. One of those hex head 'wheel spindle tools, 19mm' also works if you have one and no correct sized box spanner.

Exactly the info needed.  Just to confirm is it a 17mm Allen ? The 19mm reference is confusing.

    But thank you very much.

Been in lockdown where i am, but hoping to get out soon so i can get a few things.

agree John, :tu   yeah one of the things i did on the 750 was sort out the bodged wiring and do away with the light loop, its still running an original oem R/R  and it still charges perfect (for now)  the old motors where over engineered which makes them last, the engine in mine is so quiet for a 40 year old not like my 1200 bandit engine.

interesting you make that point.  It is what I have noticed since I fired up my new project recently.  I was expecting more mechanical noise .

Yup, it rides great. Very strong engine. I should have put the new tyres on first though, 25 year old rubber is scary.... Even dafter considering the new tyres are in the back of my van....

only last week I was adjusting the clutch which had to be "unfrozen" and accidentally lit up the rear 17yo old rubber in the driveway !

Very  very cautious on the shake down ride for sure !!!

  4. i had a keyless ignition once ..... dumbest thing ever as where I frequently parked at one stage there was some sort of local interference and I often had to either wait or push bike out of parking spot to start the damn thing.  never again !
