  1. Hello, I am building a gsx 1100 et with a bandit 1200 engine.  I have a nice bandit swingarm with Lucky 7 shockmounts and a nice set of YSS shocks. So I want to keep it twin shocked. The left top shock mount looked like it was welded before and this evening the thread on the mount snapped off.  I am no technician so what is the best way to repair it? Can those mounts be replaced with new ones after some grinding and welding?  What are your ideas/examples of repairing?  Thanks.

  2. I would take a good look inside the fueltank. Ten years not using will take its toll when not stored well.  But 600 euro's isn't much and everything can be repaired. I have a set of sidepannels indeed for a lot less then Eblag and you have to paint them anyway.

  3. Thanks all. Bought an engine from a guy who seems to be reliable. Had a chitchat at his home about bikes, streetfighters. He was selling parts of stalled projectbike. For a reasonable price I bought the engine, carbs, loom and stainless Hindle exhaust. When I got home I noticed the missing of the engine number and the missing cc on the block. Called him and he assured it was a 1200 and told me that it was already removed when he bought it a few years ago.

Downside, I can not sell it anymore. Brightside, I have to use it myself. Saw it running and it was fine.

  4. Should take the easy way and fit a bandit wheel with the bandit spacers. Then  you only have to shave a few mm of the sprocketcarrier and there will be no surprises. I don’t know if a gsxr 1100 wheel with the correct spacers has the same width as a banditwheel with correct spacers but I do know that banditspacers are different then gsxr spacers.

  5. I have two sets of 36 mm gsxr carbs and they are the same. One of the sets was on my gsx 1100 f engine so I know for sure that it is an oilcooler carb. At least  they fitted without hassle. The one I  fitted to the EF engine was sold to me as an oilcoolercarb and the previous  owner said that he also had to twist the manifolds a bit.  I will have a fresh look tomorrow  because I am a bit confused now. Everybody  says the spacing is the same but without twisting the manifolds it wont fit. They are a few mm off.

Whats the spacing of watercooled carbs?

  6. Thanks for the reply and explaination but what I ment is that the spacing between carbs 1+2 and between 3+4 is all the  same but the distance between 2+3 is not. So I either have to twist the intake manifolds 1 + 2 or 3+ 4 a bit to get them fitted. When you put EF carbs next to oilcooler carbs you can see that are not quiet the same in distance.

  7. They have the same diametre and so the inlet manifolds are big enough. It is more that the manifolds have a bend unlike oilcooled ones and to get them in you have to twist/turn the manifolds a bit. But then you create a bit of an angle between the manifolds and the  carbs.  The manifolds and the carbs dont line up in a straight line. I hope I made myself understood this way. Hahaha.

  8. I have a nice set of gsxr 36 mm oilcooler cv carbs which I am putting on a 1135 EF engine. By turning the inletrubbers a bit I can put them on but it is not a straight fit as normal. There is always a bit of an angle between the carbs and the rubbers. Is there a way to get a straight fit? Should I try more options by turning the inletrubbers  more or is there an other solution? Thanks.

  9. I am going to put an EF 1135 engine in my ET frame.  Is it just a matter of using the engine mounting plates from the ET or is there something else to do? I have heard it should be an easy fit but I noticed that the front mounting plates from the EF don’t bolt up on the ET frame. I am not in the possession of the ones from the ET so I can not compare. The EF engine is mounted in rubber and the ET engine is not according to the cmsnl parts side. Is that correct? Thanks.
