forgot to mention that it still has stock pipes and airbox

I currently have my carbs off to put a replacement jet kit in it as my 78 GS1000 has been sitting a long time and some of the jets don't look too good however the Pilot air screws, the ones sitting inside the float bowl, were screwed in at different depths on all 4. Can someone please tell me the correct setting for these? Thanks

I have never seen that white on a NZ GSX1100, IT SILVER WITH THE GREEN, BEST COLOUR COMBO of all, though I liked my Black with Orange too.

I dont really care about how long they last, just give the best feel and stopping power with the original brakes.

Are they even still available?

What would the recommendation be for the softest set of pads for my 1978 GS1000 with std calipers? I dont want to modify it by changing to later model calipers etc as its still completely stock

if it comes to it, can always cut the bottom of the tank out, weld it back after repair

I think that its a GSX400X, also known as the Impulse or Bandit
