I may be wrong, but I'm sure either the swinging arm pin, or rear axle is the same thread as the rotor.

Yes it is, cant remeber which though, but if you have a large billet of something you can make a slide hammer and remove rotor that way. Just make sure you have full thread engagement

  2. What do you need your centrestand for? For parking up or for use in the garage whilst doing maintenance/cleaning etc.  If its just maintenance then drop the pipe at the join so you can put your stand in place

  3. Exhaustcraft will build you any pipe you like . If you tell them you want to retain centrestand then Im sure they will be able accomodate that request. Lots of OSSers have these pipes

  4. I also run Dyna S on my own GSX1170 engine and it was a massive improvement, of course in doing so lost the CDI box too which was a wiring bonus. Am in the middle of drawing up as simple a loom as I can get away with. Some of my 41 year old wiring is showing its age very badly....

  5. Those carbies look just like VM33 roundslide smoothbores. Lovely carb to have on a GSX motor particularly if you have increased capacity. Bit of a chump to set up initially but worth the effort. Have some info on these if you need it.

In the pic of carb body on its own , there is a small rectangular casting just behind the inlet, this should tell you what they are.

  6. Should be fine, wasnt a 130/90 the standard size? So the '80' refers to the aspect ratio which means it is 80% of the 130 which = 104. vs the original which is '90' = 117.

So the bike may sit a little lower, maybe 1/2 inch or so. Dont beleive this will affect handling,

Jon..... are these GJG's from the old site ?

Not sure, on the bottom of each it has an old OSS refernce to Patrick, but also the last of these I found on a German website about 16years ago and had it redrawn so it was readable.Think I even posted it on the RobbieNitroz page as well. Cant verify if dimensions are correct though as never got round to the project I had in mind.

  8. 3 to 5mm between tyre and chain minimum is what I would go with, others may say different but that is my preference. A correctly tensioned chain will not exhibit any lateral movement so will not rub. Are you using an offset front sprocket ? and also using 530/525 or 520 pitch chain?

So, I am using a 3/8 offset front sprocket (about 10mm) but my swingarm etc very different to what you are running. The key for me was ensuring that front and back wheel were perfectly in line, from that point it was just a matter of working out the offsets needed. I spaced the engine very slighty biased towards the left hand side of frame (approx 3mm) to give the best advantage but still needed to use a 3/8 sprocket. Running a 170 tyre at momemt but have enough room to go bigger. Also dont forget that differnt makes of tyre will be dimensionally different. A 180 Michelin may not be the same as a 180 Pirelli  !! and also the aspect ratio can make a difference too.
