on the mikuni RS carbs - the throttle return spring has x 3 different holes for preloading and hooking the spring tail onto - use the hole that requires the least amount of tension to get the tail into it
another area = play with the throttle drum cam shape - if you reduce the diameter = longer throttle pull to get to WOT = less stain ( its like a gear ) - down side is if its too long yir wrist is in the wrong position - ok for a straight road but crap for corner exit etc.. - if the cam diameter is too big - great a quick action throttle but its more strain - there's a sweet spot between the two that can be be found by starting with a quick action diameter and filing the cam shape down ( doing this to match the carb torque sweet spot to yir wrist movement is worth a load for free especially in corner exits )
Thanks, just what I needed

Yes, sorry, 130 mains as standard. it's what came installed out of the box. also came with a set of 120 and 125.

Brand new out the box straight on
- 91 GSXR750M
2 questions
- How do I lighten the spring load? Stiff as Feck to open the throttle.
- I believe main jets are 17.5 out for the box. Shop said don’t touch them. Is there benefit in going up a size? 120 & 125’s supplied in the kit.
cheers.

Gotcha, yeh not an ideal scenario!

Personally I would invest in some dyno to to get them setup properly. Never know a set of aftermarket carbs work perfectly straight out of the box.
Ive always run a single throttle cable with no problems at all.
Awesome, thanks for the useful feedback!

Fuck what exactly Gammaboy? not using dual cables? Did you want to contribute a little more context around your response? because that's about as useless as tits on a bull
-
I've been informed that Mikuni distributors must advise on dual throttle cables however it's not necessary. Also I have been informed that I will not have to re-jet them, just bolt them on and hang on!
Strange that it's necessary to set float heights before use...
Anyway, order placed, awaiting delivery.

I'm about to buy a brand new set of RS smoothbores for my 91 gsxr750
Before I do I'd like to ask for any recommendations on size/type and any peripheral products I may need to get this job done like throttle cables, intake manifold rubbers/clamps, etc etc.
Can I run them straight out of the box? or would I have to tune them - replace main jets adjust needle height etc?
Thanks in advance!

Cheers Blue, will try that

Hi,
I’m wanting to fit a set of 93 Gsxr750 carbs up to my 91 Gsxr750 which is currently running Bandit 1200 carbs. I’m met them up to the existing inlet manifolds which do not accept the 93 Gsxr750 carbs.
can someone help me with inlet manifolds? Which config do I need to get this to work?
cheers!

Does anyone know what other model bikes share the carbs with the 84 pop up headlight Katana 750?
I'm after 1 carb top replacement but Suzuki have discontinued the part.
Thanks!
