Which parts are (easily) interchangeable between a 1200 Inazuma & other OSS's...?

As per title; I assume a lot will be Blandit 1200, but there are some marked differences between the bikes, notably the twin shocks... ;)

Wheels, front suspension, levers, switches, etc, is that all the same as the B12?

Thanks for your input. I'm not much of a mechanic, so whatever work I do on my bike myself has to be easy! :$

Anybody know if XJR12/13 shocks fit this bike? Same type of mounts or not?

The Ohlins on the XJR are nothing special at all. Yam used to be owners / part owners of Ohlins so got to put gold paint and stickers on some not very special shocks when they wanted.

GSX14 shocks are better and 3 way adjustable but they don't seem to age well. Watch out for seized adjusters or weeping seals. Good condition ones are OK if you can find them.

Sorry for the hijack Sander, but what's the length of those GSX1400 shocks Tony?

325mm eye to eye.
Other thing is, that, I had a pair of Inazuma 750 or 1200 shocks, and they are eye at top and bottom also. Yamaha XJR1200-1300 shocks are also eye top and bottom, but 330mm length.

Engine is the same as Bandit 1200. Carb size might be smaller, not sure. 

Wheels and discs are probably Bandit aswell. Forks and obviously swingarm are not.

Clocks look like Bandit but they are not. Levers are the same as used on a lot of Suzuki's.

Exhaust downpipes look like they are Bandit but I am not sure if the are. I have tried several Bandit 1200 aftermarket mufflers with linkpipe (Arrow and Yoshimura) and they fit.

One mod I would definitely recommend is increasing the ride height on the rear. I used a pair of ZRX1200 adapter blocks (+40mm) for that. And although 40 mm is quite a lot it does improve the handling (and looks).

Yes it does say WP (Like as in White Power but that's not political correct anymore although they were called that because the springs are white) Anyway now they are WP and I think originally from Holland but now part of KTM. It's the original GSX forks with just springs from WP

Main thing to do is change the carbs.They are 32mm cvk keihins(same as the gs1200ss and similar to the bandit 600/750 cvr32).
Wheels are the same as the gs1200ss,b12,rf900,gsxr750wr/ws and gsxr1100ws-wv.
Forks are similar to gs1200ss, b12 and rf900.(caliper spacing is different iirc because of the brembo calipers)
Discs are the same as the b12,gs1200ss and rf900.

To the gsx750w,I am fitting a b12 rwu front end,gsxr750l wheels,tl1000s 4pot tokicos,gsxr1100k engine,bst36ss cv's on the stock airbox and either the gsxr1100k 4-2-2 system(different cans) or gsxr750l micron 4-1 system. It already has gsx1400 jack up plates and chinese shocks(which work really well) :)

Clutch and brake levers are different in size, if they fit they work.

Carbies are keihin 32mm. With standard airbox they run out on top but bottom end until 6000 instant torque and controllable smooth. 

Modify the airbox including changing the filters location to outside the box and you might surprise many. 

 

Mikuni 40mm from a gsxr 1100 plus complete Holeshot US headers to muffler and without airbox make them go well to 10 and loose a little under 5000. The sound gets better alot if you like it loud. 

RS 40 plus gsxr 1100, je 81s is current state of development. 

Wheels, headers, rear brakes, switch gear and throttle cables are the same. 

I really got a dislike to my bland 1200 S, they do everything well but make you feel so wrong. Riding, cleaning, screwing, they stay ugly. Natural born parts supply. 

The Inazumas are a completely different breed from that perspective.

Ideally just want to a carb swap but intrigued by the dot head is it a case of finding a donner head and carbs which will fit straight on ?

Basically yes.

If the inazunma 1200 is the same engine as a b12 lots have done it on b12, including me, the DOT 750 head goes straight on the b12 and them use gsxr cams and put whatever carbs you want to gsxr/b12 36mm or gsxr 750 38mm.

If you do a search there's lots of threads about DOT heads on b12.

So Iwojima forks are same as Blandit 12, but take Brembo calipers directly with no brackets? Ummm, interesting. Do they have adjustable damping?

What I didn't mention like a fool  is I have the 750 inazuma , I am however having a little luck the seat is now out and to take another out to get decent measurement new ones are being made hopefully they press in on

My turn to bring this thread alive! 
I have a bandit 1200 2002 and just killed the front rim against a evil Canadian pothole… Anybody knows if the gsxr wheels fit? I can’t find the bandit ones around here. I checked the size they are both 17” and 3.5”width with 5 holes but Im not sure about the brakes and the spacers or anything else I might missing. 
What do you think?
