Ive heard the same about VHT.  neeed to paint a mates engine now im worried

Vapour blast the engine and prime it then use a cellulose shade that matches it.  This would last about ten years done properly.

Simmoniz is now meant to be one of the best engine paint available but bloody pricey. Never used it.myself but been looking for a replacement for PJ1

My local paint supplier does custom matched 2k aerosols. I'm going to take a cam cover to him in the new year and give that a go.

After talking to a fella in the VJMC at donnington last year I have painted a blasted gs750 engine with smooth hammerite spray!

He said a friend of his did a Kat engine about 10 years ago with the same and it still looks mint.

Time will tell.....................................

Did me katana engine in same and looks mint .

Doesn't need to heat cure either

That's good to know, I havnt started the bike yet but will go steady for the first few warm ups!

This stuff from lidle is me new best friend though , unbelievably shiny and petrol resistant
