They're beautifially made and designed, like the rest of the frame kit. Changing the bearings in one is a pain though and the bearings cost a fortune. I regret selling mine and if anyone has one spare they don't want I'm interested in buying it . Quote

clivegto Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Was a bit gutted to see the paint has started to lift round the filler cap on the tank again. After fitting the one way valve to the breather pipe I don't think it's been releasing pressure all the time especially on sunny day's. I'v made a new seal out of neoprene to replace the shrunken cork one. Sealed it up with blue hylomar on the seal and lock tite on the bolts. Then went off to meet up with @Turbomanglerat Squires to pick up a rather nice oilboiler LMC and Yoshimura starter cover cases. 4 Quote
Dezza Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I found that 3-bond is more effective than Hylomar for this application, especially for the threads on the retaining screws. It's a pig to get off though, which requires thinners and a bit of scotchbrite. I abandoned the one-way valve about 4 years ago after it stuck and the resulting pressure during a heatwave caused the tank to bulge underneath. 1 Quote

Chucked the one valve away today running a longer pipe from the breather outlet on the tank up the handle bars then a U back to the headstock of the frame. Edited June 16 by clivegto 1 Quote
clivegto Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Bike is running pretty well at the moment but did cut out the other night on the way to Barton bike night flicked the kill switch off then on big bang and away we went again.
