Swirl's Harris

Never really hankered over a turbo engined bike but having read a lot of the posts on here they seem to make sense now. In the early years it seemed like a lot of expense for something that would only last for a couple of drag strip runs, if you was lucky !! But now. INSPIRATION ....................lots of examples of reliable turbo bikes being used daily.

Seriously thinking of a turbo on the Harris now.

Done 2 summers now with my Turbo Scratcher, had it on 3 dynos, best was 260hp worst was 233hp did hit 200mph on this one though. Even taken it down the drag strip but the gearing is high & has short wheel base, handles really well on the road to the point it can beat most modern stuff. Just to add to the debate a bit. I have a Mag 4 on a Q plate that shows Date of 1st registration as May 1993 on the V5. I don't run any indicators and have never been pulled on this at MOT time for not having indicators. Seems like its at the testers discretion, or how well you know/get on with the tester , OR whether the tester is fully aware of the intricacies of rules ? Minefield !!

I was told that if indicators are fitted then they have to be working but this was many years ago and may not be valid advice now.

Like i said, it will pass an MOT because tester manual tells them to treat as 1971/75, but it isnt legal as per construction and use, and lighting regs.

So I drilled lost of holes in the box part of the bracket to match the other brackets. Put 2 m8 threads in the bottom to fasten it to existing brackets. Tided the boost gauge bracket up as well as the box. Trimed the bolts up in the lathe. Thinking of sticking a little Suzuki badge on the clock bracket. IMG_20201115_161247.thumb.jpg.16740fbbcdaafd1d5c48a585e8b1e1fc.jpgIMG_20201115_161254.thumb.jpg.b627143a421c39a0cf2daa93bb0206ea.jpgIMG_20201115_161306.thumb.jpg.6b37136e881fe225c5224ff86e8aff84.jpgIMG_20201115_162217.thumb.jpg.ea8ce8cf2d1a4fed4d48f213cc859d47.jpgIMG_20201115_170210.thumb.jpg.2317325c74e5719067e6f63ebd0cf383.jpgIMG_20201115_163324.thumb.jpg.78513a428a624dd3639d366bcceee1bf.jpgIMG_20201115_163316.thumb.jpg.d6e29e44f0df1c57584901e2e10a3a98.jpgIMG_20201115_163230.thumb.jpg.f0f84b4240b9ef9058884838dc18570e.jpgIMG_20201115_163545.thumb.jpg.bdbe560a6547e3f26928093d9e3434e9.jpgIMG_20201115_163603.thumb.jpg.feea33650ca250b35eca251f920d1e35.jpg

Just had a look at the Koso clocks. They look to be good value with loads of features. The only thing they don’t do is make you a brew and light a fag for you.

I need reading glasses nowadays. I can see the speed on the rx3 without them, most the other nice ones I can not. O.o
