baldrick Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Hello again. I'm busy marking up my wiring from a MK1 b12 loom. Now I've identified most of it bar these ,,see pics. One is a single connector with what looks like an earth black/ white, cable marginally thicker than most of the loom. Other one is a 2 pin connector, not far from the fuel level guage wiring.orange and a black/white.? Any ideas? Quote
Jaydee Posted June 1 Posted June 1 B/w with black connector goes to a branch wire splitting off the earth strap to the battery. Other 2 wire connector (if centred on top of air box)is for a defunct carb heating/de-icer i.i.r.c. Connects to nothing. 2 Quote
baldrick Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 (edited) Cool, thanks for your help. I'm playing the waiting game for connectors. Some ham fisted electro spaz has been at this loom before. I used the last of my connectors up the front of the loom. It was a bit of a head scratcher. We had, for example, a blue, connected to a black white connected to a grey all soldered to the original yellow etc etc. just a bloody mess. Will be sound tho when it's all sorted. Another example. Wires soldered with heat shrink, but hesnever applied any heat so it just slides about, exposing the uninsulated cable.....what craftsmanship.... Now you see why I hate sorting ,(other people's) wiring Edited June 1 by baldrick 1 Quote

baldrick Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Yeah mate the black plug is a single wire. Goes to battery negative. The unused one for carb Heaters I'll just leave it be. I can't see anything close up or on my phone without specks these days. I get prescription from Specsavers, then buy from goggles4u online, got about 1/10th the price of ripoff specsavers 1 Quote
TonyGee Posted June 1 Posted June 1 1 hour ago, baldrick said: ripoff specsavers yeah they are, bought the cheapest at £25 on that b/w wire to the battery earth it can cause all sorts of problems if its not right, one of my B12's had a strange issue where started and ran fine till i put it into gear, took me ages to find it but it was corrosion on that connector. after a clean it was perfect. always worth checking when wiring problems come up. 1 Quote
