spiderpig Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Have a leaking float, but only on side stand. Stripped the carbs, floats all seem fine but copped the float valve seats are very loose in the body on 3 carbs. Can pull them out without any real resistance. I presume they should be a push fit with the orings? There's no way the orings are stopping fuel. Anyone had this? Quote
TonyGee Posted February 3 Posted February 3 the O rings get hard and brittle and then leak, common fault on them, new O rings will fix it. 3 Quote
Jaydee Posted February 3 Posted February 3 The brass well should push in firmly. If you need a few o-rings, p.m. me your address as have all the sizes in viton for c.v. carbs. 1 Quote

Enjoythesilence Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I buy those and other viton carb o rings in bulk, i pay about £5-£10 for a pack of 100 from reliable suppliers on eblag. 1 Quote

I use Simply Bearings. You have the added advantage of being able to order o-rings in different softness/hardness grades. Far more options than Eblag in most cases. 2 Quote

Sam-Jaffa Posted February 14 Posted February 14 This is why I love this forum, I was talking with @davecara yesterday about new seals as all mine have dried out (this new fuel is awful) Fowlers wanted £90 for the seals They're now in my basket on Eblag for a fraction of the price Quote

I'm not saying sellers on the bay are selling inferior o-rings, but can you tell the difference? That's why I only used a dedicated engineering based outlet so I sure what I'm getting. Quote
Sam-Jaffa Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I was cautious of that but I just checked and theyre all viton Quote
