Gsxrsam Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Eyup peeps. What do need we need to change if using bandit ecu on slingy loom with bandit motor? Cheers.... Quote
clivegto Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 Just change the ignition pick up if it's different if not nothing Quote
Dezza Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 Blandit CDi unit has different connectors. Easiest way for B12 in slingshot is as Clive suggests: change the B12 ignition pick-up to a slingshot unit and retain the slingshot CDI. 1 Quote

Do not have pick up or slingy cdi..... can ya not just re pin blocks? Quote

In theory yes, but I don't know how widely available the blocks to fit a B12 CDI are. They look pretty specialist to me. A slabby CDI and pick-up (different to slingshot) works well with a B12. It advances the ignition a little at low revs and perks the engine up, and uses easily available connector blocks. Edited December 24, 2025 by Dezza 1 Quote

fatblokeonbandit Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 I bought a B12 years ago that someone had “tuned” buy fitting a GSXR 1100 cdi and pick up. It was cheap as a non runner he had cut the wires off the plug and re connected to the Gsxr plug.??? it never ran right due to the dodgey connections,, and certainly didn’t make it more powerful as the seller maintained, in the end I replaced the loom and bandit CDI.. 1 Quote

Yep, you can use easily avaialble connectors because slabby CDIs have a short length of cable for connections rather than the blocks going directly into the unit but you'll also need the slabby pick-up too. If the components are good and connections sound should work fine. However, somewhere like kojacats may sell the blocks to enable you to use the B12 unit (they take much thinner terminals than those for the older bikes). 2 Quote
