Sam-Jaffa Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 Let's talk coolers I haven't a clue with aftermarket I bought an AN10 to suit my powerscreen some pipe and fittings but I've never made lines before I feel I have bought the wrong hose as it doesn't appear to go together right. could someone advise me on what hose and also the best fittings to use please cheers Quote
spiderpig Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 I use an8 hose and get everything from torques. The angles you need will depend on motor, cooler, frame, top or bottom feed and possibly exhaust. Putting them together is handy enough, loads of vids on youtube. 2 Quote
Duckndive Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 There a video,s on YouTube on how to assemble hoses ... And if you look on Aeroquip website it shows all the different types of fittings and hose 1 Quote
Sam-Jaffa Posted November 19, 2025 Author Posted November 19, 2025 The hose I bought is black braided outer rubber hose but seems that there's also nylon inner? I'm a bit lost Quote

Dezza Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 I use AN10 on my main cooler. If you mount the cooler after you have decided on your exhaust/sump combo you can then arrange the fittings so everything goes together with sufficient clearance before cutting the hoses to length. AN10 fittings are fairly bulky and doing this will help prevent cock ups and having to buy more hose if plan A doesn't work. 1 Quote
SiBag Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 There are different hoses for different fluids, and different connectors to suit. Off the top of my head I cant remember what the differences are with the fittings, but there are differences. Quote

fatblokeonbandit Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Im in the middle of making another 1200 bandit one, fiirst make the bracket and mount the cooler in the correct position with clearance for the forks on full lock.. Then you can see what type and angle of fittings you need to clear the exhausts I can guaranteee, even though I have a big box of bits there will be one I have to buy as I wont have exactly the right fittings 5 Quote

I'm a bit lost You've got PTFE hose which uses different fittings, look at the locking collar; Non PTFE lined hose uses these; Personally I use a company called Motamec, they have all the fittings/lines and oil coolers. They are fantastic quality and much much cheaper than other well known makers. https://motamec.com/ 3 Quote
baldrick Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 There are 2 types of hose. Make sure you get the one that's compatible with fuel. I used an8 fittings and hose. Hardest bit imo is getting the cut hose end into the fiting Quote
