baldrick Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 So ive got the 600 back together but we have a problem. There is no start. This could be due to 2 things. In front of the starter relay are 2 wires, a red and an orange iirc. I fitted new connectors, and presume it's red to red and orange to orange. I'm fairly sure this isn't the problem The pic below shows the starter relay, and behind it there is a cylinder shaped part with wires going into the top. ? Any idea what it's called as I think this might be where my problem lies. When I was fitting new connections beside this I noticed the yellow wire had come out of the cylinder shaped object. I pushed it back in but suspect it's possibly fooked.or not making a connection. Any idea what it's called, and if it's available separately as a quick glance it looks integrated into the loom. Obviously if I can find one I can just make up a connector block, but I'd like to know whatI it is. Cheers Quote
TonyGee Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 its all one unit Al, the starter solenoid, they are cheap to buy but I suspect its the yellow wire is your problem. 1 Quote
baldrick Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 (edited) Yeah it's actually the connector block I need the one that connects to the starter relay. It's part of the loom, but maybe I can get one aftermarket that will fit. But yes you're right Tony it's the yellow/ green wire, it's part of the clutch switch circuit... So anyone know where I might get a connector block that will fit, as the spade inside the connector won't come out, due to that foam stuff as far as I can see. I'll have another look in the daylight but suspect a new connector is needed. Unless I can get that foam stuff out and remove the connector from the block Had a look at my b12 loom, looks the same Edited November 6, 2025 by baldrick Quote
Gixer1460 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Unless the wires are 'potted' into the plastic plug (unusual) you should be able to de-pin the connectors, pull wires out, re-make connector (after pushing broken wire through) and job done . . . . . or just connect to top of solenoid using insulated connectors! Blandit wiring seems overly complicated - why use only one wire when we can use 3 or 4 ! 1 Quote
bluedog59 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Is there a click when you press the button or is it dead, dead ? 1 Quote
bluedog59 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 You have checked the fuse next to the relay and that you are getting power to the relay ? 2 Quote
Wee Man Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 Is the clutch switch working? Have you got a multimeter? With ignition on, starter button pressed and clutch in there should be 12 volts on green/yellow wire at starter solenoid. 2 Quote
baldrick Posted November 7, 2025 Author Posted November 7, 2025 (edited) thanks lads it was the clutch switch wire out of the terminal at connector block at the starter relay. ive managed to get the rubber bung (not foam) out, pulled the terminal and fitted another and i just put a bullet connector so i could use the right coloured wire instead of po, billy bodgers green to yellow effort. sorted now and spinning over. great success Edited November 7, 2025 by baldrick 7 Quote
