Slabside 1100 exhaust

Hello Guys and gals,

I need to get an exhaust for the above bike. As genuine exhausts are hard to get hold of, what are people fitting instead?. Thinking of Bandit 1200 or Slingshot headers. Happy to redo a rear section if needed if full system wrong. Any info gratefully received. Regards Rob.

Two Slabby 11 exhausts on the bay at present in serviceable condition for circa £500 each. Both for sale in Uk ( not mine-but a quick Eblag search found them)

If you fit downpipes for a Blandit (avoid OEM as they weigh a ton) or slingshot, you'll need the appropriate sump and oil pick-up too. You'll also need to change the oil cooler pipes as the take-offs are in a different position as a slabby.

I have an Akrapovic system on mine.

Not sure what bike it was made for but it wasn’t a slabby. I think it may be for a slingshot. The only thing I needed to do is cut the fairing lower back by about an inch at the bottom, as the pipe exits the fairing earlier. If Dezza is right about slingshot down pipes, it may not be a slingy exhaust as I didn't have issues with the sump plug or oil pickups.

I have seen a few original exhausts recently at bike jumbles. They normally go for £400-£500. There were at least 3 at Stafford last month!

Looks like a slingshot item to me. Have 2 of those systems. Akra slingshot tend to be 4-1 systems with 51mm end for exhaust,  whereas bandit systems tend to be 4-2-1 with a larger bore for exhaust can.

And those Akra systems are pretty rare these days. I've got a full Ti blandit system that I get asked about selling almost any time I post a photo of it on instagram. :vu:

Yoshimura also sells new slabbie exhausts, but they're not cheap.

I tried a full 4-2-1 Akra system for a blandit on a bike with a B12 engine and slabby sump, and the pipes fouled the sump.

you would need the blandit sump and pick up

Got a yoshi cyclone on mine. As mentioned, they arent cheap but are a great system. The problem with buying original, used systems, although they can look pretty solid, they can rot out where the four headers join. Right in the middle of the collector. Proper bastard area to try and repair as you cant get a torch down there...ive kept hold of it for a future repair but haven't decided how i'm going to tackle it yet..
