Blandits footrests

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm fitting the footrests to the frame today.

Obviously they have rubber mounts but tightening them up it looks like there is a fair old bit of movement in them.

When I lean on them with my hand there's about 5mm movement......that can't bear. Right surely

I added another washer between the footrest hangar and frame, but there's still a fair bit of movement..

Question is....is this normal or have I missed something out.?

I've checked pegs are solidly mounted to backplate. There are no ferrules missing etc?? Bolts are f tight....I'm stumped....unless that's " just the way they are"

Any ideas

Cheers

No that's not right mate They don't move that much only "give" that's in the rubber bush. The rubber bush should be sandwiched between the footrest bracket and a washer (part 5). The metal part of the bush fits inside the hole of the washer (part 5).

Ah right.

I'm just using normal M8 washers so the bush isn't locating inside them.

I presume that's where I'm going wrong.

One of the mounting holes has this rubber type washer over the bush in the back. So I take it this should be steel

That's it mate the washers are rubber they should be quite solid once you bolted it all up. They're a pain to put on as the washers drop off use a bit of grease to hold them in place.

Too late, they're made lol.

Well the rubber washers are. Meant to be 8.5 but I only had a 9mm hole punch. They're thicker too but they will compress.

Cheers for the washer info Ted
