slabbyowner Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) Hi guys. was just changing the clutch plates and I noticed a little bit of play in the outer basket. The inner part seems ok. Is this ok. I've included 2 clips because the close up looks a bit misleading I think.https://youtube.com/shorts/pXtgLKIpWPw?si=uOPSI0zazhMRA2p2 https://youtube.com/shorts/b_3BD21Uj_E?si=qfHaKKBH3nKLHR3E Cheers all Edited October 31 by slabbyowner Quote
Swiss Toni Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) That's next to nowt! However, there's thrust washers both sides of the basket. If dimms. are listed, check the spec. or renew regardless. Play in the bearing? Worn sleeve? Even the shaft could be slightly down.Honestly, if it's not affecting the operation, I'd live with it! To renew all those parts won't be cheap! And, once the clutch is under spring pressure, I'd be surprised if you could move the basket at all, at all! Edited October 31 by Swiss Toni 1 Quote
slabbyowner Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 Thanks swiss Toni that was really appreciated. stupidly I only ordered friction plates. I just checked my steels and I can slide a .010mm guage under no problem. God knows why I didn't just order the kit in the first place. So I've just ordered my steel plates. So it will be next week when they arrive. cheers Quote
