Armynick Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Am I correct in thinking that the US Slabbies were restricted via the carbs and pipe? therefore that would be reasonably easy to unrestrict? Just needs some cash thrown at it Quote
bluedog59 Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Hello and welcome. 8 years on the forum should have given you plenty of time to RTFR before your first post. 2 Quote

Upshotknothole Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Normally US bikes were only restricted for emissions back then. Our GSXRs usually didn't get the same carbs as the unrestricted countries. Slingshot 1100s got BST36s instead of the 40s that most of the world saw, and we didn't get the VM29s. I don't believe we ever got restricted exhausts, well more than the stock exhausts were already restricted. Do you happen to know where in the US the bike was sold? California models were even more restricted than the rest of the country, but again usually just carbs and extra evap canisters. De-restricting it should be as easy as swapping in whatever set of carbs the rest of the world got. If you want to know for sure, check the Suzuki factory service manual and it'll list the specs for each country code and what parts were different, but we don't have tiered licensing or anything like that so nothing installed to restrict the HP, only emissions. 4 Quote
