Duckndive Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 Ok so while scrolling thru the various screens i noticed that the is a miss match on the RPM readings ... Anyone else had this or know the solution ? Quote
SiBag Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 I would suspect its because the firing uses the lost spark, so the tacko is seeing twice as many pulses as it needs. Just a guess, but sort of makes sense. Quote

Gixer1460 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 depends on which unit you choose - most will have setable settings to allow use with 8, 6 or 4 cylinders, with or without wasted spark - Dyna2000's for example can either output 1 or 2 pulses per rev to suit various tacho's - obvs getting a mismatch will give half, correct or double correct reading! My Koso and Daytona clocks both have this, so make sure a starting point is 'four cylinder four stroke.' However, there can also variation in the setting needed according to the nature of the ignition pick up within engines of the same configuration. For example, a bike with a B12 ignition will need to be put on a different setting to one with a slabby ignition. Quote

Yes there are numerous settings ... the point is why does the digital read out on right read near double the analogue "needle" on the left.... There is only one wire to the unit taken from the ECU tacho feed as per the destructions and using the suzuki wiring diagram from the OE manual 1 Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 Maybe the analogue one is configured to only accept one pulse whereas the digital is taking the two pulses so reading double? Does the engine sound like 1000rpm or 2000? Quote
