Oil cooled coil lead removal

Hello.

My plug leads on my coils have been cut too short to fit blandits frame (were previously in slabby)

Now I've read that the leads on std coils can be removed and replaced. Bonus if so.

My coils have what looks to be a clip holding both leads in place at the coils.

ive removed it but in doing so the plastic tabs that hold it in place snapped and one half broke when I extracted it from the lead.  The plastic is mega brittle after 25 off years of heat cycles....they don't make em like they used to

Can't see the clips on part site

Anyone know if I can buy the clip separately, or am i looking at some cheap 2nd hand coils.

I presume gsx600, 750, etc will be same as b12 but hopefully cheaper.....cos I'm skint. If I need new coils that is

Cheers

I’ll have a look in the emporium. I changed coils on my 1200 a while ago and I’m in the habit of not throwing anything out so they may still be about if I have them I’ll send them up with your package

ive been trying to figure out how my bargain bandit isnt running very well/ i noticed yesterday its got those cheapo chinese replacement coils and i suspect they are breaking down when its running. they test ok off the bike, but i just dont trust them and have read of others having issues with them.

ive been through the carbs twice and am waiting for a screw extractor kit to arrive as one of the airscrews is stuck solid.....and it needs turned out another half turn

Sounds like you're sorted, but at a push I reckon you'd probably get away with new leads screwed on the 'spikes' and a blob of silicon to hold them in place?

That was my backup plan in the absence of clips...

Did that on 1100 Teapot coils. Worked a treat!:tu

You used to be able to get HT joining 'collars' with like self tapping screws in each side that you screwed the ends of the HT lead into to extend the length to the required. Possibly still available Vehicle Wiring Products ?
