baldrick Posted July 3, 2025 Posted July 3, 2025 Hi. Anyone know if a b12 engine will fit a b6 frame. Also, would I be right thinking a b12 swinger fits b6 frame. All mark i1 bandits I'm on about. Reason I ask I've b12 engine swinger etc and a cheap but very tidy b6 has just come up for 600 quid locally Cheers
SiBag Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 (edited) With the amount of 6/12's you see I suspect yes they do fit. No personal experience though. Just had a quick search and there is a thread on here from 2021, looks like @fatblokeonbandithas done it in the past. Edited July 4, 2025 by SiBag 1
fatblokeonbandit Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Yes they do, done it several times. this is the first one i did many years ago. 1200 engine, 1200 swinger and wheel, gsxr 1100 front end.. another one i should never of sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only differances in the frames are the bottom triangular mounts are welded on instead of bolted, the rear foot peg hangers are the same, welded not bolted, the lock stop is a differant size on the 600 wider than the 12, the bolt on front brace isnt fitted to the 600 just the 1200.. and of course the bottom rear hole is 10mm instead of 12mm. 4

baldrick Posted July 17, 2025 Author Posted July 17, 2025 No sale. Bloke wouldn't move from his price, even tho it's incomplete and a non runner.....pfffft I'll keep my eye open for one . I already know exactly how I'm gonna mod it. There's a frame n bodykit down south for not a lot, and I'm thinking of breaking my slabby 11 due to lack of interest. It's got a b12 motor...... decisions 1

baldrick Posted July 18, 2025 Author Posted July 18, 2025 Well I got one today, was cheap as fook, (under a grand) and very tidy with Yoshi can and some aftermarket headers, braided lines, new battery, . Non runner as carbs need cleaning. It's sat for 6 years. Good starting point tho. I'm delighted with it 1
baldrick Posted July 18, 2025 Author Posted July 18, 2025 I do like this. Top bike seat unit. Bottom bike swingarm. But I'll get it running first 3
Longhair Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 That was a bargain, regardless of the negatives that Bandits seem to attract, that I have never understood, they are a bloody good bike. Well done for a excellent purchase. 2
MrKris Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 (edited) Bandit 6 frame with extended 1200 swinger gsxr 1000 rear shock 1200 engine all you need is the extra bar at front goes well im also running the full 600 loom just top end rpm higher but if you dont rant it too much its fine (red bandit) Ypu can run the 1250 swinger arm like in project look picture bandit mk1 also If you want any pictures to help i do have full strip and build pictures of the red bandit Edited July 19, 2025 by MrKris 3
baldrick Posted July 19, 2025 Author Posted July 19, 2025 Today I have mostly been...........carb cleaning. Got them out. Undid airbox pulled it back. Undid throttle cables at bars, and removed choke cable at carbs. All clips loosened and off they came. 6/10 in the pita ratings. I'll imagine replacing them at 8/10. Got new looking k&n in filter box....bonus Carbs were absolutely hanging with grit. Not good, wouldn't even move the butterfly's....ahh I the joys. Into the heavy duty degreaser they went, followed by some pressure washing to get the stubborn crap off it. They move...hurrah see pics Bottom bowls off, more crud, but no green algae...bonus . Pilots out. 3 out of 4 were blocked completely. Blasted brake cleaner everywhere all through small orifaces used wire to clear pilots Needle valves o rings etc all free and unworn, so ok. Aren't they a twAt to get back on Air screws. 3 moved, all set to 2 turns out, 4th is solid. I left it...don't want to totally wreck it. I'll presume it's seized at 2 turns out till I check n balance them. mid clean coffee break then finish putting them back together 5
