Jess14 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 So I purchased this, bit of a spare of the moment purchase but there you go, not too sure what to do with it and wanted some views, it's totally standard and showing only 13000 miles. I've considered swapping the motor for either a bandit 12 or gsxr11 ,doing the running gear at the same time for something more modern, nice cheap sleeper. But, I have a rf900 I've recently pulled out of storage and a gs1000 , one of them has to go as I can't house 3 bikes. So either the RF or this has to go, by my reckoning the RF with a bit of modification would make a better fast road track bike than the gsxf with the bigger motor, but what do you guys think? I'm also slightly agreived to attack the gsxf given the original condition and mileage...must be getting old! Quote
Swiss Toni Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Could be interested in the motor, if you decide to go bigger? Quote
Jess14 Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 Ok I'll bear that mind, would be good to shift bits on that I don't need , would you by chance have much knowledge on the gsxf up grades in considering, ideally I'd like to fit a 180 in the rear, presumably I'd need a wider swingarm. Quote
DAZ Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Which one is the 'keeper' ? Sounds like the GS1000 as you're thinking trackday bike for the teapot or RF , if that's the case I'd flip the teapot as it's a good looking example and use the RF on track or sell that as well and look for a srad or a similarly sporty base as neither the RF or teapot has the suspension adjustability to be setup for road and trackdays without changing forks ,shock Etc and spending much more than it would to prep an srad, or similar , just my opinion Quote
DAZ Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) For ideas on upgrades @fatblokeonbandit did a build "I'm a little teapot" ? as did @teapot "bit like buses" project threads Edited June 2 by DAZ Addition Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Track days in My Teapot with the big fat motor and trick suspenders was the most Fun I’ve had with my pants on for years.. 1 Quote

Think you will find @clivegtohas it now and I think he has or is putting a turbo on it as well Or have a look at @imagorf900 build with him fitting a gsxr1000 engine into the RF Just to give you a real mind fuck Quote

clivegto Posted June 2 Posted June 2 It's got a 1216 turbo motor in it now and in my defence it was only a little fire which didn't burn the shed down 2 Quote
