Good day, building my scrap bit by bit, i boaght a stator for an et, but it dont fit the cover i have. Was wondering if other covers like gs might fit the engine bit not work on the stator base. The startor hole is 37 and the base is about 33ish....think i have the wrong cover?!

Be less hassle to find a stator that fits the cover, rather than the other way round. There are so many different  types of cover, it's a nightmare! You may find one that fits your stator,  only to find the oil gallery blanks in the cover are either not there, or don't line up with the crankcase! If your cover is original fitment for the ET, get a new stator from Electrex. It's probably due one anyway!

Due to the many types of cover available, I'd seriously look at repairing the original, if possible. See the 2nd picture of your cover? The gallery boss at 1 'o' clock? Some covers won't have them. The gallery holes at 7 'o' clock may be in a different position. Make 100% sure you're getting the right fit before you part with your 'hard earned'! I've even heard of tapping the gallery boss in the crankcase, and blanking it off with a headless Allen bolt, to use a cover without the blanking boss.

Easy done. Don't forget to tuck the cable behind the guard in the cover though!
