High performance cam shafts - shims under bucket

I'm just trying to find information before I make a decision..

I've got Web cams (grind 119) camshafts in my GS1000. these are for turbo and street application.

Couple of days ago I learnt that Web cams have another camshaft available for turbo (and street) application; Grind 218. these cams have about 0.75mm more lift over the Grind 119.

The 218 cams apparently want shim under bucket..

My question; do they really need shim under bucket? I hardly rev my bike to the max, I've got a turbo charger, it's not necessary. II have a set of cams with that much lift that material needed to be removed from the head, I used the same lifters for that, never had a problem.

Anyone here who has experience with this?

Thanks

I had Kent "road & track" cams on my GS1000 with standard buckets etc. Enough lift to need machining of the head for lobe clearance.

Never had any problems over many years. My information was that unless I was racing and hitting/exceeding the red line, It'd be fine. And it was.
