isntgav Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I have a '81 GS1000G with a busted stator/alternator cover. I'm having a lot of trouble finding the part for my exact bike, but was wondering if the same part from an '81 850GL? And if not, do any other motors parts compatible? Quote
isntgav Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 They aren't the exact same, but are very similar to eachother. '81 1000G: 11351-49002 '81 850GL: 11351-45001 Quote
gs7_11 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Unfortunately that doesn't help. 11351 is just the number for a LH engine cover, 49 is the GS1000 prefix, 45 is the prefix fir the GS750/850 family. They might be completely different. Or possibly they are interchangeable and only different because of some minor detail that doesn't matter, but unless the part number is exactly the same, you'd have to assume they don't fit, unless someone here has actually fitted one. Just be patient and keep looking. The GS1000G isn't a rare bike, so one will come up eventually. 1 Quote
Swiss Toni Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Same with GSX1000/1100 covers. Nightmare! Look the same ... but aren't! Quote
