Wateree12 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Hello. I recently picked up a micro sprint car with what seems to be a 97 bandit 1200 engine on it that’s has been swapped to what I assumed to be a 600 clutch assembly. Got it running however it started slipping the clutch and with no adjustment left I bought a new set and went to install them. To my surprise they were completely wrong and I cannot find a set for this anywhere. Any help would be appreciated thanks Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted March 18 Posted March 18 cant see your pictures, but this is a standard 1200 bandit clutch. 1 Quote
Wateree12 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Let’s try these. Sorry first time uploading on here Quote
Gixer1460 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Would guess at early 1100 slabby but don't recognise inside of pressure plate! I'm guessing it's a hydraulic operation? Quote
Wateree12 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 It is not hydraulic I bought it thinking it was a 600 due to the cable clutch but after reading the side of the case it’s a 1200 Quote
dupersunc Posted March 18 Posted March 18 That looks a right hotch potch. There's 750 bits in there too. Is it a 5 or 6speed box? Quote
jameskat Posted March 18 Posted March 18 At a guess, GSXR 1127cc clutch basket, GSXR 1052cc or GSX1100F inner hub and pressure plate (4 spring) https://oldskoolsuzuki.info/?s=clutch then GSXR 750 clutch cover with associated release rack. If so then use GSXR1100 clutch parts 3 Quote

Wateree12 Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Thanks all the info guys. I guess I will be grabbing a set of 1100 disks when I get a chance. As for the spacer plate since there is no lock up installed could I remove it? Just want one less place oil could leak Quote
dupersunc Posted March 19 Posted March 19 If it hast the 750 clutch casing and mechanism, as the rack suggests, you need yhe spacer plate to make it work. Quote

Just curious So are 750RK & SP crankcases different to other models ? on the clutch side eg 750 L Bandit , 1100L etc Edited March 19 by Duckndive Quote

I've seen people use the 750 clutch mech on 1100s. the cable guide and actuator are in the bolt on clutch cover, but you need to space it out from the crank case. Just so, happens a look up spacer is the right width. As there is the 750 toothed actuator in the pictures, I guess that what has been used to convert the clutch to cable, rather than the Bandit 600 actuator on the sprocket side. 1 Quote

I have a couple of the covers but not go round to trying to fit one yet so very helpful Thank you I guess the 750 clutch is thinner than the 1100,s etc then "have to shift more boxes to check that" Quote
Captain Chaos Posted March 19 Posted March 19 what Doop said. I tried once to fit a 750 cable operation clutch cover to my 1127 engine and it needed a spacer to make it work. Quote

Disguise a bandit engine in a 750 frame...I've got short stroke and long stroke clutch covers, any idea which one works or will I need to test fit both? Quote

GSXR750j/k clutch case has the external actuator. I converted one by removing the actuator and replaced it with a breather. Quote

It would be amazing if I could run a lockup as well. Quote

I have cable clutch with a coil spring clutch conversion and a lock-up clutch on my Turbo B12 but I used a gsx750f/teapot sprocket cover to do it. 1 Quote
