All of the disadvantages of a bike, with all the disadvantages of a car, and none of the good points of either. So aside from not helping my question is, why? 6 Quote
spiderpig Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I'd be thinking along the lines of imago when it comes to trikes. As for whether it's a good deal or not.. How much is it up for? Quote
wraith Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I'm with @imago I know a couple of people with trikes (BTW) if you can't ride a two wheeled bike there great to keep you on the road, or have kids who want to come or a misses. I'd be more inclined to spend the money on a convertible Quote

The high centre of gravity and narrow axle mean they are inherantly unstable, and things start to go very wrong quicker and at much lower speeds than you think. Really no good side to them if you are physically able to ride a conventional bike. I just cannot for the life of me see why anyone would spend time, effort or money on one. 1 Quote
Upshotknothole Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I'm unfortunately with everyone else here. Trikes are the worst of both worlds, and like dupersunc said, dangerous. Remember the old h*nda three wheelers from the 80s? They were notorious for tossing people and breaking bones anytime you took a turn too fast. If you want three wheels, go with a sidecar. Safer, cooler looking, and you can practice getting the sidecar up in the air. Quote

Saying that when we're out and about he's not the slowest in the pack by any means. I say go scratch that itch Quote

Just use the info about handling etc to go in eyes open and get it how you want. If I'd listened to all the opinions over the years I wouldn't have done half the stuff I have. Mind you, I'd have a lot more money and far fewer scars, so thinking about it follow the advice. Quote
wraith Posted March 14 Posted March 14 If you have a itch, itch it or you will always be thinking what if. From what I understand from mates who have/had trikes the ones that are a full motorbike with axle bolted to them are the worst. The ones that are low to the ground with a bike engine or the car engine trikes are the better design. 2 Quote

If your into group rides. I say anything to get wind therapy is ok. Lots of kitty cats over here riding can am 3 wheelers, also disabled riders on harley trikes. Make the most of the precious time you have on earth. If i ever win the lottery, i am hunting down the rg500 trike and buying it. 1 Quote

Agree 100% ,not anti HD just a taste I didn't really acquire , and on the twisting lanes up here in God's own county of Yorkshire I prefer the handling of other makes though I've never tried a buell so who knows.... 1 Quote
Captain Chaos Posted March 14 Posted March 14 if you want a HD and good handling, buy an Indian. Same old looks, but modern technology. Still shit compared to any real bike but it comes closer. 3 Quote
jonny1bump Posted March 15 Posted March 15 You want 4 wheel one really so you can be gangsta. 1 Quote
coombehouse Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Apart from all the other shortcomings mentioned, I'd be considering how much room it takes up in the garage. Quote
gsx Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Think I'll just buy it and shove the trike arse end in me et. Fuck you i won't do what you tell me 8 Quote
