GS650 tank, or ……. ?

Needed a tank for another mongrel bitsa-project. Picked this one up today but I’m not 100% sure on the year / model.   It’s very much Kat style but I’m pretty sure it’s not a 1000 or 11.

A central cap not offset to the right.

2 rear mounting points.

Fuel tap and gauge sender.

I’m thinking the GS650 shaft drive Kat ?

It only owes my AU$20 / £10, but it might make life easier if I see the right side panels for it on my travels.

Hi Tony if my memory serves it does look like a kat 650 shaftie with central filler, side mounted fuel sender and side mounts for body panels but hay I could be wrong

It looks like it, but it could also be a 550 chain drive Kat. I've never had a 550 and 650 side by side so I don't know if they shared a tank.

550 and 650 share the same tank and the same tail piece

the side panels and the seat are different if my memory serves me right
