fork identification help

Hi All! I have this 81 GS450 and I could use some help figuring out what forks it has on it. POs did some mods on this thing that I'm unsure about. Someone who knows Suzukis better than I suggested that they are probably swapped from an early 90's Suzuki, but that is really my only lead. The diameter of the stanchions is around 37mm. I'm hoping to identify the source of the forks so I can order new seals and service them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Look like bandit 600 but they are 41mm

That's a 1990s GS500e fork

And p.o. has done a pig of a job to that poor bike

As Joseph said, GS500 forks (and rear wheel). The 4 year old kid from next door could have done a better job on that bike.

Didn't notice the single disc  but it's the two top yokes that would be a concern for me

With stuff that bad on show, the biggest worry for me would be what horrors are hidden?

Hidden? The seat doesn't look that secure to me

Yes, then there's the stem, bearings, clamp bolts, frame welds etc etc. Basically with something like that if you don't tear it down completely you'd be taking a chance.

It's a good start for a proper rat bike, still a bit clean but leave the fork seals just put some toilet paper under the dust seals, let the rest cover the bike and it will soon be there
