Oilcooler hoses

Hello everyone,

I would like to build a new Setrab 10 or  13 row oil cooler on my GSX 1100e.

Which hose diameter would be optimal dash 6 (8.7mm) dash 8 (11.1mm) mm is the inner diameter oil pump is original
I would like to connect the oil cooler to exits left and right  to the oil filter, I have an oil filter cover for an EFE

-8. You could use -10 but the fittings are massive and can pose clearance problems, and the coolers tend to be more expensive than the same item in -8 .

+1 with Dezza, AN8 for me all the time. AN10 are just to big on the fittings, I think the 10 just look to big on a air/oil cooled bike

Depends on what you need - I prefer having loads of oil volume through cooler by using -10! Big horsepower needs big cooling!

I used AN8 fittings and hose on my 1100 Kat, using the theory presented by others, "Bigger is better - without being oversized."

On an aircooled bike -8 are more than adequate. I have used these for many years with no problems. Same goes for oil-cooled machines. I only use -10 on my oil cooled bike's main cooler because I managed to source some good second-hand quality fittings mega-cheap (Speedflow, Goodridge) even though the bottom fittings caused a problem getting enough clearance from the exhaust downpipes on one side.

Just in the process of fitting -8 lines & a Setrab cooler on mine at the moment, they seem fine.
