johnnyboy
Hi, have been cleaning a b12 engine and moving it about and heard something moving in the sump, which had alreadybeen removed and loosely refitted. Removed it and found indicated washer..? Anyone know where it’s from? thanks Quote Link to comment

george 1100
I'ts possible to disassemble the springs without removing the head Quote Link to comment
fatblokeonbandit
one of these bottom right, its one of the 4 plain steel washers that go under the 4 outer nuts on the head studs... Quote Link to comment
johnnyboy
…2mm thick and below. My guess would be it’s from the clutch but I’ve no idea… and slightly worried. Whoever gets it right warns 3 worn 10mm bolts. Quote Link to comment

Nearest thing it looks like is the washer that the needle roller type washer sits on but it's only 0.5mm thick. Fatblokeonbandit has already given you your answer. Probably lost down the cam chain tunnel removing or refitting head after a head gasket change. Edited February 23, 2022 by Jaydee Quote Link to comment
Dezza
FBOB has answered the original question. The next logical step would therefore be to lift the cam cover and check the head nuts . Quote Link to comment
johnnyboy
No disrespect to FB observations…. But, the ones on the picture of the valve train doesn’t look like a 10mm internal diameter. Could be though… Quote Link to comment
wraith
If it had rubber on it I'd say one of the washers that sit under the cam cover bolts (x8) Still looking for one of the new ones I bought when I built my b12 motor, it's somewhere Quote Link to comment

johnnyboy
See the pic above from FB, it’s a head nut washer, dropped down the can chain tunnel by the knob who did the head gasket… Quote Link to comment
