If it's in decent knick, the cheapest way forward is to get it running and riding as best you can with what you've got. The cost and effort involved in fitting Blandit running gear is unlikely to be offset by any massive benefits. If you change the consumables (can you still get tyres the right size?) and recommision it, you can then go from there. I think the main problems with these 550s apart from the usual corrosion is getting the unusual carbs working well.

B12 rear

What front end you going for ?

If you use a bandit you will need to change stem.

If you use a b6, the rf600 bottom yoke they have the same spacing and fork diameter but the stem fits the GS/gsx bikes. The rf600 front wheel is a 3.5" so you can get a 120 front tyre instead of the 110 on the b6 and the both use the same discs and brakes and unlike the b6 mk2 that has the same size wheel but doesn't have a Speedo drive but the rf600 one dose.
