Jdeac Posted January 9, 2021 Share Posted January 9, 2021 Hi all. What parts do I need to use to fit a w/c swingarm into a oil cooled slingy frame. I know I have to sleeve the main pivot. But what linkage etc do i need to use. I have the complete slingy setup and the w/c swinger linkage and dogbone I've tried searching but cant find out. Cheers Quote Link to comment
dupersunc Posted January 9, 2021 Share Posted January 9, 2021 The geometry of the rocker link is the same between slingshot an WC. You have to mix and match bits from the 2 bikes but you should have everything you need to do the job. Fitted a Wr arm to my 750j with out any dramas though Icanremember the specifics. Jaydee Posted January 9, 2021 Share Posted January 9, 2021 (edited) Did this many years ago. Gsxr 1100K with WR 11 arm and 5.5 inch 11L wheel. From memory, used the slingshot knuckle with the WR dog bones as they are slim and clear the inside of the arm at the top mount. The slingshot dog bones are cupped at the ends which makes them too wide to use. Use the WR bushings with slingshot bushings as they are a flush fit to sleeve the pivot bolt. Either superglue together or weld them with a light tack to the side of the bushings to keep in one piece. Edited January 9, 2021 by Jaydee Quote Link to comment

The smaller slingshot bushings can't fall in to the w/c crush tube as long as they are secured to the flush fitting w/c bushings, i.e made in to one piece bushings. Quote Link to comment

I guess this is not the case then? Seriously doubt it would bend. No load on the middle of the pivot bolt and it's kept square on the bushings either end. Quote Link to comment
