1982 1983

Hi there 

i have just bought a 1983 gs550m katana it came it boxes i dont have a clue what im doing but plenty of time to do it .

most of the parts ive looked for only run up 1982 ie for seal retaining clips on Eblag and other sites they dont have any that say they will fit the 1983 model

please is there any difference between 82 and 83 parts

I'm not very familiar with the Katana version of the 550; they were rare or not sold at all here in the US.  On other 550 variations, there were considerable design changes between 82 and 83, so very few parts interchange.  When looking for parts online, keep in mind that the same model may have been used different model designations in different parts of the world.

And like Toni just said; go introduce yourself.

It's a gs550 (8 valve) with a fancy tank, sidepanels and seat Nevertheless, it is still a bona fide Katana.
