GS550/750 Genarators/stators

Hi

Doe's anyone know if the generator's and stators from a gs 550 are the same as a gs750 ??.

I need a new cover for my 750 and wondered if any of the others would fit, I have checked part numbers for 550/750/1000 and they are all slightly different, however the 550 and 750 generator's and stators look to be the same pictures on Robinsons site whilst the 1000 looks different.

Not much help but I've got a 850 one on my 1000.

Meant to say, if you need a new cover check if the gaskets for the covers have the same part number?

Old tuning mod was to put the smaller/lighter generator and stators  on the bigger bikes, I've heard people saying they used the 550 in a 1000 but I've not done it so can't say yes or no.

The two things to look at/check is where the generator bolts inside the cover, it has 3 screws and a retaining lugs which the generator screws to some genys have a smaller ring of lugs and screw hole patent.

True, but it tells me you love old GS's 

To be honest i forgot about the 850, even though i owned one for a few years.

Checked out part no's and the 850 seems to be the same as the 1000 which on looks alone is a non starter,  no pun intended.
