Starter Motor Wire cover suggestions?

As you can see in pic i've put a rubber/pvc cover on the starter motor lead. With the head cooler plumbing running above it.

However (not in pic) when the other end is plumbed in the hose then literally sits on the lead cover.

Once the bike is up to temp, the hose & the Amp draw heat is causing the cover to melt & short.

So suggestions please for a better type of cover, ceramic would be good but that's probably impossible to find?

Try a rubber hose cover and also see if you can shorten the hose slightly so there is clearance between the hose and pipe. When you have the fitting off for hose shortening, put a piece of heatshrink on where the cable connector is before installing the fitting.:) Also, why is the starter cable routed in that way? It should go under the alternator housing. If there isn't space, why has it got such a thick cable?

So It's been a couple of years, but we used wire with ceramic beads on it for insulation in a gas turbine setting. No wire strippers needed, just flick off half a dozen beads & slip the wire into the fitting.
