1100 GSXF into a 85" gsxr 750 frame ?

Hello,

I've got a 750 gsxr frame, but it's missing an engine, I found a 1100f for really cheap and next to my home, but I don't know if it'll fit into my frame...

 

anyone here did the trick ?

Yes. it fits a treat. need to drill out the lower rear engine mount on the frame to 12mm.

You will also need to remove the sump to get the engine in position in the frame as there is no removable frame member like on the 1100 frame.

Think you can only do the clearances whilst engines out?

I just dropped a b12(same size as 1100f) into a slabby 750.

As @dupersunc said, remove the sump and drill rear mount to and it’ll pretty much slide in.

Cam cove is removable on both my 7/12's

Not taken cam cover off since it’s been fitted into bike but there is  a fair bit of clearance- I can’t see why it wouldn’t come off...

You don't have to drill the engine mount on the frame if you don't want to, you could sleeve the mount on the engine instead if you want to keep the frame as stock - I believe copper pipe can be used for tat.

And I didn't need to take the sump off the B12 engine I fitted into my 750 Slabby,  it went in complete, but only from one side (err, the left if i remember correctly), and the cam cover came off easy enough for valve clearances.

Cam cover comes off to the rear, with a wiggle. 

I got the engine in mine once with the sump on, it was like a Chinese puzzle. I take the sump off now, and with 2 people it literally slides in.

I stand corrected, that's good. I'd sleeve rather than drill too.
