Sounds like you need a tap repair kit as well as smokey and petrol smell may indicate fuel in the oil / crankcase - have a sniff in the filler hole?

The tap is working fine and I dont seem to have any fuel smell from my filler hole :/ I think the fuel leaking from the rear of the carb is what's left in the fuel pipe it just over fuels really bad when its running

Sounds like float needle stuck open on number 2.
that’s what I find 9 times out of 10 when there’s fuel coming out the filters.

This will also over fuel more than likely causing the smoking petrol smell.

Well got home from work went in the garage total chaos air box full of fuel, cylinders full of fuel, and sump full of fuel with that much leakage the fuel tap must be faulty.I have ordered a repair kit plus an extra stand alone hi flow vacuum fuel valve plus a set of genuine suzuki float valves as when I checked the originals they all had a wear ring in the rubber cone and the little sprung loaded post on a couple was getting stuck.lets hope I've got it sorted

Check your float heights. Do you know what carbs they are?

Hold the carbs up side down and blow through the fuel line, if you can blow through one of the float needles is leaking.

Sounds like a good excuse to source some bigger replacements for the stock bonsai carbs:)

I had the same, new needle and seat purchased, I purchased a new tap thinking it was that, but NO.

I have not fitted them yet, that is a job to do soon.

I've replaced the float valves did a bench test with about 200ml of fuel all good after 2 hours.i think the tap is intermittently working so will replace the diaphragm in that as well

From experience you want to have a tank above the carbs to replicate the pressure from the tank with gravity / pressure.

I did a small fuel test and the needle and seat where fine, I put a lawn mower tank hanging above the carbs filled with gas and they leaked.
