I also have a complete dot head 750 engine that’s trashed but has a good alternator and has its drive gear. Can I swap em round? Quote Link to comment

Can I swap em round? Yes in theory but you need to use the matching pump gear. The 750 alternator is geared lower on the 750 than the Bandit. This is good as you will get less parasitic loses from the alternator if you fit to the Bandit engine. I have looked at how it will affect the oil pump drive gearing. Its something im looking at doing on one of my 1216 motors. Quote Link to comment

I must stress I've not tried it. the alternator gearing is a no brainer for me but I want to check the oil pump gearing before a I go ahead with the swap. Quote Link to comment
