Help identify this Ohlins shock

Can someone help me with the exact name of this shock since i want to order a rebuild kit ? Also how do you fill it with nitrogen i can see a valve ? Sorry for the basic questions i have no idea about these

Will post the spring numbers and lenght when i get back home in a bit, im looking to refill it with nitrogen 300 psi im guessing ? And fit it in my N 1100, looking at the numbers i dont think 2mm of length will make a difference since i have a raising kit installed, and as for the 5 mm shorter stroke ? But it also has v818 on it what do u think that is ?

SU8050 is for gsxr 750's 88-95 (SU is Suzuki) 

So lets break down the spring code. Can't really make out last few numbers. But lets just say it's 1091 24-88 for example. 

1091 is the springs dimensions 160mm long with an inside diameter of 57mm. (a 1993 code would be 150mm x57mm i.d.)

24 is the spring rate code.

88 is the spring rate in newton metres without the decimal (as in 8.8 newton metres)

If I was putting it into a gsxr 1100N, I would change that spring for a beefier 1091 31-95 item (standard 11 Ohlins spring).

Can't help you with gassing info. I leave that to suspension specialists.

I went on the ohlins site and cant find the manual for this shock, maybe too old ? I did find a 805 thats for a tl1000 but mine is 4 digits 8050 and not a piggyback.. ? Im looking for a rebuild kit and a manual to guide me

312mm is the standard shock length eye to eye for gsxr 750's 88-95. 

There is a bit of adjustment on the clevis (bottom eye) with Ohlins so you could shorten it a bit if you loosen off the locknut but 8mm won't matter in the real world.

Ohlin data can be quite confusing. The 805 shock you mentioned is for a TL1000S but that shock is a 46PRCW type shock (fixed vertical reservoir piggy back), while yours is a 46HRCL type item (reservoir on braided hose) so that rules out that your one has anything to do with the TL.

It's handy to strip Ohins down. Loosen off the two nuts at the top with a C spanner and you'll have enough room to lift up the springs base and turn, then you can slide off the spring.

@HWBby the way, that's an old shock as the SU8050 became SU003 in 750 (SU002 for 1100). The only info stuff I have on the gsxr 750 is below. It has details on spring preload and adjusting the clevis (safely!) to change shock length as your shock can be set from 312mm to 324mm.

Unfortunately not. I have plenty of Ohlins data but no rebuild guides as apart from changing springs and doing light maintenance, I leave everything else to a suspension specialist. 

You can find a few vids on YouTube which might help.

First thing I'd do is measure the piston to confirm its size, 36mm or 46mm? (Yours is 46mm btw)

I'd imagine (can't confirm though) that the seals are pretty much universal for whichever piston size is involved.  

But as said I never took one fully apart.

Thabks for the link Martin, i have watched that video a while ago but im afraid that shock has completely different internals than mine since its way older and its a different catehory all together, cheers tho

Nearer to the SU003 shock. The SU002 is almost the same shock but has a 70mm stroke over the SU003's 67mm stroke, along with beefier spring for an 1100. The rebuild kit should be the same as it's more about the reconditioning the piston rather than the whole shock.

SU805 is TL1000S but,

SU8050 is gsxr 750 88-95

You have to follow the rest of the SU805 reference data along that line and you see its a completely different type of shock, (fixed reservoir) 

Most of the problem lies with the fact people are using an old superseded Ohlins code and using it to cross reference NEW codes and ending up giving totally inaccurate info on which shock it is.

This is the closest rebuild kit i found to my shock but im unsure of my piston diameter and reservoir piston diameter too. The od of my reservoir is 51mm does that indicate its a 49mm piston inside ? And is the main piston 46mm ?

I de-pressurized it mate, and removed the spring so im sorry to fuck ur fantasy, can give you a link to some vidz where you can see some dudes oiled up tho :D i mean if thats what your into..
