I bought a 87 1100 Gsxr a couple of years ago. It was a "racebike" with about 85000km on the clock.Well i tried it on the tracks in Sweden and it was not too horrible,stock rear damper from 87, and the old antidive forks.He He could only get better,so I bought a Nitron for the rear and change to Triumph fork and brakes from the tt 600.Ok, wont bore you with more.
