cheese monkey Posted June 5, 2019 Share Posted June 5, 2019 Got an oil leak that looks like it is from directly under the exhaust ports on 2&3 but particularly 3. Wondering if I'm on the right track here, if there are oil passages in the area there? Quote Link to comment
Gixer1460 Posted June 5, 2019 Share Posted June 5, 2019 Not directly under as there is nowhere for them to go. Have you had the cam cover off recently? There is a drilling in the head from the plug wells to drain any water that gets in there but sometimes when doing head servicing the 'mickey mouse ears' rubber seals get misplaced and oil gets out of the head, into the well and dribbles out near the exh. ports looking like a gasket leak - which it sort of is ! 1 Quote Link to comment
cheese monkey Posted June 5, 2019 Author Share Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) Could well be that, the exhaust clamps looked like they were getting a bit on too which didn't look right. If I take plugs out and stuff a rag down there and it comes out oily I guess that would confirm it?
