Been stood a while so new oil, plugs, fork seals and a carb clean

Fit some flat bars as I'm not suited to clip ons!

Then ride as is for rest of year while I finish my other projects!

Then possibly off to Dave Dunlop for a turbo setup B|

best start saving up now if you are going the turbo route on an aircooled motor O.o Definitely the right plan though (y)

Started the strip down today after getting my old k3 1000 stunt bike back together enough to sell on

Got some very fancy vm34 carbs on it but they are bright green and nasty so need a good strip and clean before she can run (also got new oil and jr9b spark plugs)..shame about the wiring...no idea whether to stick with it or build a brand new stripped back loom...or pay someone to build one?

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

got her running last night! big relief to hear her run even if it was roughly (carbs are better but still far from decent!)

so now its time to order all the wiring loom bits to build a new loom

anyone got any experience with 'Dyna S' ignitions that go in the engine casing and replace the CDI?

Want to build the loom as simple as possible for now so wondering if its worth getting one over the stock CDI

Those carbies look just like VM33 roundslide smoothbores. Lovely carb to have on a GSX motor particularly if you have increased capacity. Bit of a chump to set up initially but worth the effort. Have some info on these if you need it.

In the pic of carb body on its own , there is a small rectangular casting just behind the inlet, this should tell you what they are.

I shall check if they are vm33ss later thanks @Jonboy

Think I have decided on Dyna 2000 for tunability and potentially swapping the 33s for rs36s but not sure on the carb swap yet.

In terms of suspension, I will be getting a new rear shock and keeping the current front end.

However the front end is currently using a stock R1 stem I think and I am not happy with how they have just used a spacer to take up the excess length "/ need to find someone to build me a stem

I also run Dyna S on my own GSX1170 engine and it was a massive improvement, of course in doing so lost the CDI box too which was a wiring bonus. Am in the middle of drawing up as simple a loom as I can get away with. Some of my 41 year old wiring is showing its age very badly....

Query - could you remove spacer from below, drop the top yoke down the stanchion and have the clip ons above the yoke GSXR1100 stylee - spacer could then go above yoke and be made to look halfway decent?

i was hoping to run flat bars like on Burnsies Spondon so that hinders that option "/ Maybe i could get the stem cut down and rethreaded?

i was very tempted to run the S purely for simple wiring. However in reality the Dyna 2000 isnt that much extra wiring wise when I am already intending to build a full bike loom!
