  1. My slabby coils died recently so I managed to convince the boss, that I should replace them with a set a dyna coils and Taylor leads, purchased from grumpy1260. I removed the tank today and after a short fight with the old screws holding the original coils managed to get the first coil off. Opened the box with my new coils in and set about dry fitting just to check the fit was ok. Then came the reason for the post recommended fit as per the instructions was followed but the buggers won't fit with the original fittings/spacers whatever orientation I try they are either hard up against the frame or need extra spacers at which point the ht lead output fouls the underside of the tank. Anyone else fitted dyna coils and found a cunning way of getting round this? BIke is slabby 750H coils are Dyna Dc1-1 Thanks
  2. That's for the offer mate much appreciated I'm sorted now the boss has authorised some dyna ones once pay day comes
  3. Nice article in Practical Sportsbikes this month on @MeanBean49 Suzuki Turbo well worth a read, even got the old "Old Skool"sticker in shot An added bonus wth a bit on Harris frames to Just for those that might be interested
  4. I need to a comp test anyway so gives me a good excuse to check the plugs at the same time, probably going to check coils and leads before making any carb adjustments just in case its ignition/carb related any other suggestions/ideas are welcomed
  5. Standard jets but will check as you suggest when I'm home on Friday and let you know
  6. Rebuilt my slabby last year and had it running pretty fine, took it out yesterday in the heat and it developed a new problem. Wouldn't tick-over when hot and stalled at every chance, when I got it going again it misfired and wouldn't rev cleanly any ideas? It has previously run perfectly during the cooler months It's standard apart from exhaust, running VM29s with std airbox with KN replacement filter, carbs ultrasonically cleaned and repair kits fitted.
  7. I hope to come down but will be in the car coils have died on the slabbie so off the road until I have saved for some new ones
  8. If it is a vac problem the fuel tap will look like this if it doesn't as @banoffee says it can't be stock so may be another problem not fuel flow/vac related, have you tried sticking it on prime and seeing if it runs ok??
  9. What model is it? Had a similar problem on my H model when the vac pipe was split/not fully connected
  10. Just trying to help with a touch of English sarcasm
  11. The marshals at Cadwell are a pretty cool bunch from my experience its way worse at Mallory.
  12. They do a static test at a given rpm(5,000??) then sticker your bike if it passes(below the given limit-depending on the track) if it fails then no sticker try again after sticking a sock in it or no pass no sticker no ride I think. Cadwell used to be max 105db static not drive by-most normal race systems are less than that but you have a turbo so can't guess,my GSXR without baffle is around 98db but seems much louder when you ride it so you may have nothing to worry about I'm sure one of the turbo bods can give better advice
  13. A picture paints a 1000 words sorry I can't post 1 because my bike is in the UK and I'm in Sweden, hope someone else can post a pic to help you, but it isn't that complicated to be honest
  14. With a pair of pliers if you have no tap rotate the centre part(where the tap screws in) either fully clockwise or anti clockwise until it stops this will take you to either res or prime. Half between these 2 points is on, hope this makes sense.
  15. I'm on Sunday wobbling round in the Superbike group doing my impression of a rolling chicane I think there are a few spaces in superbike and novice groups If you've done Cadwell before thats half the battle, you can pretty much go fast or slow in any group
  16. Nearly ready for July- fork oil changed and new springs fitted plus got round to fitting new rear shock at last, only a few jobs to do then she should be good to go
