I can confirm Maxton still do them I think it’s an SD20 or 25 cartridge kit as I rang them a couple of months ago to enquire about my K,if you email them they’ll send you the spec sheet and prices

Next part of the upgrade list to include the following
Maxton fork cartridges
Couger red race clutch
More modern radial front brake M/C
Then maybe a 300 kit
The lists the easy bit need to raise some funds first- 2

Not started or rode the smoker since last July so dragged her out and took a couple of plug swaps to get her running right.
Fitted some NOS mirrors that I got off a mate over the winter pretty cheap to replace the shit Chinese copies
Air in the tyres then a short blast to warm her up and stick some fresh fuel in,forgot about the grin factor still lifts the front wheel on the throttle with my lump on it New shock feels great even on the dodgy back roads.

Stoke and Cambridge via the Far East somewhere still good quality I remember when we referred to stuff as Jap crap.
I’ve got pipes on my smoker made in Thailand also top quality I guess it’s all in the design, manufacturing and quality assurance processes these companies use

I previously raced in the Classic Suzuki Blandit Challenge, black widow were a series sponsor and most bikes ran their systems, well made, decent power and robust even when crashed plus not too expensive either. Most bikes produced an arm wrenching 70+bhp when running the full system with no other mods other than jetting.I think they’re made in Cambridgeshire Uk unless they’ve moved production overseas.I’ve run a black widow system and Delkevic both made in Blighty

I’ve rebuilt a lot of forks and older boat anchors RWU forks have plastic preload spacers as well as more modern upside down Suzuki model forks
The holes are for the pins in the spring compressor for detaching the adjuster from the damper tube

I’ll echo @Dezzacomments on NRP they are proper old skool you even get a cuppa when you visit, made my link pipes for the Killa K I rode there on a Saturday morning he made and fitted the pipes while I waited and will be making a full race system for my slabbie race bike Nigel is a top bloke and decent racer as well.
Hes much cheaper than you’d expect but less money doesn’t mean less quality, he was making a full system for an XR69 when I last visited.

Thanks for the replies good sensible input, this confirmed my gut feeling guess there’s more to lose these days than gain by trying to beat the system and cut corners

Coming back to this after sometime now I have my ET registered as historic can I transfer parts over to the new frame and just stick my old plate on it as it will never go for an Mot or am I just chancing my arm and should go the MSVA route etc,any thoughts or experience with this? @Dezza @yantosh @370steve

What bike is it for?
You can buy end can repack kits on eblag,Fuel and Delkevic make them and probably a few others to.
A16 Road and race in Lincoln will probably have an end can that will fit,I’ve run them on 2 race bikes and they pass noise testing no problem with or without the baffle fitted.
They will mod existing cans that they sell if you need any adjustments to, they’ve done it for me when my link pipe wasn’t quite the right size and a tight enough fit.
