  3. cheers chap, yeah if you dont mind confirming the dimensions that'd be great. Cheers VJ
  4. I wouldnt mind confirmation If its to hand chap but dont worry about digging out the dusty end of your shed if not. Cheers VJ
  5. Ah deffo a better financial option to make a b12/slingy yoke up then, now its just to find a slingy stem that isnt already in use in a daft front end swap lol Cheers VJ
  6. Cheers guys, FBOB, any particular reason not to machine down? I have a friendly machineshop local, or is it just shitty steel that doesnt machine well? I suppose If I buy a slingy bottom yoke and swap the stems, Id have a slingshot forks into b12 yoke spare I could sell to recover costs, thats if I could get into the sales page, my post count is too low at the moment Cheers VJ
  7. So the front end in my Gsx600f is a worn out gsxr400 set of usds that Ive decided to replace with a stock bandit 12 front end, that way I at least get conventional forks back and retain 4 pot nissins to slow her down (got a b12 engine in it) Apparently I need to get a slingshot stem to press into the bandit bottom yoke and then it'l fit directly in, this is due to the stem being the same bearings but the bandit 1200 one is too long for the stock gsx6f frame. Does anyone have any pictures/measurements of the stem types in the title so I can confirm this? surely if im cunning I can get the bearing face turned down and put a spacer over the top? Cheers VJ

    Teapot Project

Yeah, as you can see from mine ive made a bodged attempt to make a kat style nosecone as homage tothe sexyest bike ever, but even im not enough of a mong to call it a kat. 6 pipes wont fit on the b12, im running a set of gsxr1000 k series titanium headers and they are a lot lighter than the stock b12 setup, seat of the pants dyno felt a bit more of a peaky power delivery out of it after fitting them too however that may be entierly placebo Cheers VJ

katriders.com forum has a lot of information on the sensible swaps to put into them, theres a bloke on there who sells cartridge emulators that are aparently awesome, im a cheapskate and got offered a set of usds though and well, usds look cool as penguins piss lol they have all the info on rear shock and wheel swaps too btw Cheers VJ

Ive a 600f rat with a b12 engine in, You need to shim the rear engine mount bolt, fit the 600f rocker cover breather box and ditch the petrol tank support brace for the engine to go in. It'l run on the 600 loom but obviously the rev limiter isnt going to be in the right place. Other mods wise, gsxr6 k4 rear shocks drop into the teapot and make it handle a shit ton better, gen 2 teapot rear wheels fit wth minimal work aparently and can handle a bigger tyre size (although ive not done the rim swap myself so I cant be certain) Ive bodged a gsxr400 gk76a front end into mine (badly, it shouldnt really fit) and nissin 4 pots are a suitable addition to the front if you do b12 it, rear brakes wise Ive not bothered to upgrade, the 6f rear brake is capable enough of locking the rear with decent pads in so who needs more. Cheers VJ
  11. oh so tasty, arent the 6 pots a bit overkill though?
  12. Cheers for the replies chaps, Rene, could you describe the front mount of the slingy tank please? My issue is that she's a daily ride so I cant take her off the road for too long, thats some hella impressive work tho g-badg Cheers John
  13. Hi guys, Ive a gsx600f (well, mostly) thats decided to start weeping at a petrol tank seam, Ive made a temp repair with chemical metal (It is a rat after all lol) but I guess I should change the tank soon. Now if im going to the hassle and expense of getting a new petrol tank, then quite frankly I think the gsx600f tank is ugly as sin, and a slingshot tank would look a lot better on there, has anyone ever attempted such a feat? from what I can work out from photos the rear 2 bolt mounting seems to be the same, the front mounting and every other possible issue im lost on though having never owned a slingy. Cheers VJ
