  1. Not yet, i have GSF head, ported DOT head here. Not sure what a Big Valve head would cost me and who does the work in Austria. Any recommendations for valve sizes/make ?
  2. from what i found, there´s two different sleeves for the big blocks - up to 84,5mm and then some which can take 85 or even 86mm pistons. i have a big block with 83mm psitons (one sleeve an piston broken), and a bare block without liners. Also just snapped up a JE 85mm kit for just USD 220....soooo will have to order some big liners to go with them me thinks... Try also to find one 83mm piston to complete the old block then.
  3. can´t find a JE kit for 84mm, neither from Wiseco
  4. Is there a known piston kit with 84mm for these engines, or just the Busa-84mm ? Have a big block here, might want to punch it out to the max. LA Sleeves says up to 84.5mm on this sleeves is possible.
  5. 600 cable clutch 1200 hydraulic different height of cylinder blocks
  6. I am in the process of building an GSF engine for high power output, and would like to throw in bigger main bearing studs. Original are M8x1.25, i would like to have M10 size chromoly, which i´m pretty sure the cases can accept. Anyone knows a source where to get them, or an engine that has the same sizes original. sizes are: 8 x 125mm 2 x 65mm under head length
  7. no - only GSX 750 and 1200 have this tank FWIY
  8. very good looking bike - do you have any pics of the other side ?
  9. Soo...he has a brand new clutch, a hand -rotatable oil pump, and a lot of missing tooths on both gear wheels. Told him point blank that the failure was up to the one who changed the clutch.

    Cam cover bolts

yeah, i remember buying from them fairing fasteners....buying one piece was like 1€, if you buy a bulk pack of say 20 pieces price for the bag was 22€......because packaging costs extra money....so, i ended up ordering 20 individual fasteneres for 20€ Funny kind of sales mentality they had....usually buy more=pay less, not: buy more, pay more
  11. had the same this winter - mine was rusted solid in the bores, could not rotate crank. Try taking off starter, generator, sprag clutch and give it a go. If it´s not moving, tear down head and start digging
  12. i just dismantled the clutch on the B12 lump with cracked oil pump i had lying around, and one more possible reason crossed my mind: no clutch holding tool combined with an air gun/impact driver could have broken the teeth, as the crank won´t be able to rotate backwards becaus of starter sprag clutch. Im definitly sure, it could not happen during running engine, and i do not think the oil pump is stuck. Also talked it over with my uncle, who´s a very good self teached engine builder (runs a 600hp Superstreetbike Kwaker turbo), and he has come to the same conclusion. Tomorrow evening i will drive to this guy, take out the clutch, and see if the oil pump spins or not.
  13. Yes i certainly believe you are right, but do you think my assumption of A or B is correct ?
  14. So boils down to 2 poss mistakes: A) Oil pump stuck B) mechanic's bodgery/misaligning If i take out the clutch, and cannot rotate the oilpump by hand it's A i guess ?
  15. what i wanted to hear....but there are a few teeth broken, some in between are good again - that´s funny somehow ?! just misaligning would only break a few, just the ones in contact i think
  16. i have a half torn apart b12 engine in my workshop with a blown oil pump (it´s cracked), and i do not recall it to have broken teeths. I do not know what caused it to crack, as i´ve bought that engine stuck as it was
  17. story so far: i´ve sold ths perfectly working B12 few weeks ago. Today he calls to tell me he wanted to have the clutch being replaced by some mechanic. Before getting there from his words there was a "bang" on the traffic lights, and then he pushed the bike to his mechanic (which i do not know if he is a pro, or just some friend of the Bandit Buyer). My question: what could have possibly gone wrong ? Or do they want to fu... with me, because the mechanic screwd up while doing the clutch ? Maybe impact wrench - failure ? I don´t want to be unfair, but this bike worked very well all the time i had it, never had any problems at all.
  18. same as i have - early GSXR mirrors, probably the same as RG ?
  19. interesting - any details about prices ? GS1000S mirrors are near impossible to find.
